General Information Santa Cruz is located on Californias Central Coast 65 miles south of San Francisco and 35 miles north of Monterey. Situated on the northern side of the Monterey Bay and hugged by redwood forested mountains, Santa Cruz County has 29 miles of beaches and includes 6 state parks and 6 state beaches. Santa Cruz provides a relaxing counterpoint to the intensive workshop activities. The climate is mild with summer temperatures in the mid 70s and winter temperatures in the mid 50s.The sun shines 300 days a year and the humidity is low for a coastal city. Most of the rainfall occurs between November and April. There is occasional fog due to changing Pacific Ocean currents. Dress is casual and participants should bring warm clothing as mornings and evenings throughout the year are cool. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Santa Cruz County has an inexpensive and reliable public transportation system that participants can use. The training center is a pleasant walk from downtown. Cultural and educational facilities of the San Francisco Bay Area are easily accessible by public transportation. |

Accommodations IHP arranges double occupancy housing for participants in apartments or hotel rooms close to the training center. Excellent restaurants, cafes and markets are conveniently located near participant housing. Travel Santa Cruz is located 45 minutes from San Jose International Airport and 90 minutes from San Francisco International Airport. Participants flights need to be scheduled into one of these airports. To reserve transportation from the airport to Santa Cruz, please send confirmed arrival schedule at least TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE. ![]() |
