As
a program of the Public Health Institute, International Health Programs
has access to a strong pool of research specialists and epidemiologists
with capabilities in operational studies. Research has deepened the understanding
of incidence and causation, created appropriate strategies and systems
and supported the building of capacity within institutions and communities
to develop the most effective solutions. In the past, IHP has designed
and conducted several KAP (Knowledge, Attitude and Practice) studies in
Africa. More recently, a study on the nutritional status of children in
Tibet was published in the February 1, 2001 issue of the New England Journal
of Medicine. |
