Islam and Reproductive Health
Study Tour

The purpose of the tour is to equip participants with current, accepted information concerning the teachings of Islam with regard to child spacing, contraception and other topics relevant to Reproductive Health. Participants develop strategies for informing their communities of the benefits of child spacing and encouraging the use of improved reproductive health services.

The Smoke-Free International Training Program
 |
Two (one-week) courses that include every aspect of strengthening smoke free legislation, implementation, and enforcement.
The two courses currently offered are:
(1) Campaign Planning for Enactment of Progressive Smoke-Free Legislation
Participants have the opportunity to develop a plan to strengthen the existing smoke free law of their state, province, or country.

(2) Increasing Public Compliance with Smoke-Free Policies
Participants have a chance to develop an implementation and enforcement plan that can be adapted to a local country or culture.

Participants or groups can attend either course, depending on the progress of their country’s or city’s smoke-free legislation campaigns, or attend both courses for a comprehensive step by step overview (from start to finish) of a campaign, implementation of a new law and enforcement for high compliance rates.
Courses can be conducted at IHP, Santa Cruz, California or at Institute for Training & Research in Family Planning (ITRFP), Alexandria, Egypt upon organization's request for a group of 10 or more.

Developing Adolescent Sexual & Reproductive Health Programs
 |
This workshop offers health and social service providers the skills to develop strategies and programs that address adolescent health issues such as adolescent pregnancy, unsafe abortion and YFS substance abuse, sexual abuse and exploitation, teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV, and self esteem and suicide.
