Conducted at Lebanese AIDS Society (LAS), Beirut, Lebanon

This two-week HIV/AIDS workshop offers health care professionals working in HIV prevention and care at large as well as general internists the opportunity to share resources and strategies with regional faculty as well as faculty from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). The training methodology for this program will be a combination of didactic presentations by faculty and clinicians in the area of HIV/AIDS research and treatment with virtual or real case presentations with discussions in general session or in a workshop.

Performance Objectives

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the latest management strategies in HIV antiretroviral use
  • Describe the epidemiology of HIV infection and management strategies
  • Understand and manage common problems in opportunistic infections and other AIDS related issues
  • Understand the importance of gender specific issues and tailor programs toward various vulnerable groups.

This workshop is designed for health care professionals working in HIV prevention and care. Participants include health educators, physicians, nurses and general internists.
