Information
for Sponsors & Applicants

A
Word to Sponsors
Sponsors need to provide tuition, round-trip airfare and per diem for participants. A book and shipping allowance is also customarily provided by the sponsor.
Sponsors handle all travel arrangements, including visa processing. Confirmed return tickets than open returns are recommended. |
The sponsor needs to inform participants who wish to change travel itineraries for their return trip that all costs related to travel changes postage, ticketing and re-issuing of tickets, Federal Express, visas or other costs are the responsibility of the participant. If there is an agreement between the participant and the sponsor that these costs will be reimbursed, the participant is still responsible for paying charges in advance. |
Participants need to be aware, before their departure, of living arrangements in Santa Cruz. Double occupancies are reserved by special arrangement with a local hotel. Unless IHP is notified ahead of time, single occupancy is not available. The difference in cost between single and double occupancy is the responsibility of the sponsor or participant. |
Health Insurance must be arranged for participants before their arrival in the United States. IHP does not provide health or accident insurance coverage. If medical coverage is not provided, the participant is responsible for all medical expenses and will be expected to pay for services on a cash basis. If the sponsor is unable to provide health insurance, IHP can purchase a policy and invoice the sponsor for the cost of that policy. |

Note
During
most workshops participants are expected to present country profiles
and to explain programs for which they are responsible. Participants
are asked to bring basic demographic data and project descriptions
with them when they travel to the training center.
